Hello, I am David Stacy, owner and boxing instructor , women's cardio kickboxing instructor, and head Personal trainer at Octagon Gym. I am currently accredited through the American Sports and Fitness Association. (Private Personal Training by Appointment). Additionally I provide members with supplement and nutrition advice as well as developing safe programs that will help competitors make weight at competitions. I also provide members with FREE memberships to Complete Nutrition (High Point and Greensboro locations).
My martial arts training consists primarily of boxing and wrestling. In my classes you'll learn traditional boxing and also "dirty boxing", which is a combination of boxing and stand-up grappling. In "dirty boxing" a fighter may use elbows, knees, strike in the clinch, and go for takedowns. I also spend time working on ground-and-pound techniques, which is very important for MMA competition and self-defense.
I am continuing my boxing training under Walter Johnson III, who has trained top pro boxers Buddy McGirt, Aaron Davis, and Steve Cunningham.
Additionally I am training in the Israeli self defense art known as Krav Maga in Kernersville, NC under instructor Pete Andrews (Krav Maga Worldwide).
